Here is a clip from youtube that features Neil Gaiman discussing the influence of his Jewish upbringing on his work. Pretty interesting.

“A question that simple, even my driver could answered that.”

    Awesome.

I never would have expected him to have shared a humurous experience about his religious background given some of the dark and gothic themes in the sandman. He’s so versatile with his sources of inspiration he makes it sound so easy being able to incorporate these life experiences and intertwining them throughout his novels. Brilliant!

Hmm, maybe I haven’t picked up all of the religious references. I only recently learned about Lilith. That’s very interesting.

I only know a little bit about Lilith but my interest has piqued again. I was watching the last episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion (popular anime series) and the figure/idea/concept of Lilith is fairly predominant in the plot line. I might try to find some info in the Oxford reference guide and post it. : )
